Resolute Lands Telecommunications Executive

CHICAGO – Resolute Consulting has hired Robert L. Biederman (38) as executive vice president.

"Rob comes to Resolute with tremendous experience in issues advocacy at the intersection of business, public policy and government,” said Greg Goldner, Resolute’s founder and president. “With Resolute’s growing portfolio across the Midwest and beyond, and our expertise in telecommunications and regulatory issues, the timing is perfect for Rob to join our firm.”

As executive vice president at Resolute, Biederman will continue to serve as deputy vice president of public affairs for telecommunications innovator AT&T’s northern U.S. region, which includes Illinois, Ohio, Michigan, New York and Massachusetts. In this capacity, Biederman develops and implements public relations, media and grassroots campaigns in complex regulatory and legislative environments. In addition, he manages corporate citizenship and sustainability issues and regional and state public affairs staff.

Prior to joining Resolute and his leadership role at AT&T, Biederman was the director of strategic communications for Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan. He has additional experience as a senior adviser for a major, statewide trade association, and extensive campaign experience in electoral politics.

Biederman’s campaign experience includes a dozen races at the municipal, state and national levels. Biederman is a 1994 graduate of the University of Kansas, where he received a B.A. in communications and political science.

Just weeks ago, Resolute announced the opening of its new office in Columbus, which will serve clients throughout Ohio and the Midwest and build on business and civic relationships between and among Illinois, Ohio and other states.

Since founding Resolute Consulting in 2002 in Chicago, Goldner has assembled a diverse and talented team of professionals with expertise in public affairs and strategic communications, including issues management, public outreach and coalition building, online and digital advocacy, and signature event production.
