CHICAGO -– Jake Braun, former Director of White House and Public Liaison for the Department of Homeland Security, has joined Resolute Consulting, a leading national public affairs and strategic communications firm, as Executive Vice President.
Braun will focus on issue advocacy and public affairs campaigns. In addition, he will lead Resolute’s sister company, Central Strategies, a political consulting firm that works with candidates in the United States and abroad.
“As Resolute continues to grow, the addition of Jake enhances our diverse and talented team of professionals and builds upon the existing expertise we offer to our clients,” said Resolute Consulting's founder and president Greg Goldner. “Jake is a skilled expert in international and national political campaigns and his experience and effectiveness is significant.”
Jake has more than a decade of experience in strategic communications. Prior to joining Resolute, Jake led the Presidential Transition Team as Deputy Director for the National Security Agencies Review and went on to coordinate key public engagement efforts at the Department of Homeland Security, including the 2010 Deep Water Gulf Oil Spill, domestic terrorism policy and Southwest Border security and trade. Jake also served as National Deputy Field Director to Barack Obama's presidential campaign and oversaw execution of direct voter contact strategy and execution.
Braun has broad experience on national, state and local campaigns, including John Kerry’s 2004 presidential bid (Michigan field director), and consultant to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee and the Democratic National Committee.
“When deciding on my next career move, I was looking to join a firm where I could apply my advocacy experience and political campaign work to help clients achieve their goals,” said Braun. “Resolute stood out above the rest. I could not have asked for a better team of professionals to work with.”
