Chicago Zoological Society’s Brookfield Zoo
Using creative storytelling to highlight the impact of public policy programs
PROJECT: The Chicago Zoological Society’s Brookfield Zoo is a world-renowned zoo home to 2000+ animal residents that welcome more than two million guests yearly. The Brookfield Zoo wanted a creative way to show their Board of Directors the significance of the programs and community outreach the Zoo implements and the importance of their conservation efforts.
STRATEGY: Resolute decided to utilize the Zoo’s staff and take advantage of their prop department and their residents (specifically a rhinoceros), to help create a unique video, while keeping the costs at a minimum. Operation Rhino replaced the standard power point or memo that was traditionally used when presenting to the Board.
OUTCOME: The short film was awarded an Emmy® from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences at its 53rd annual Chicago/Midwest Emmy Awards in the category of Outstanding Achievement for Public Affairs/Current Affairs Programming – Feature Segment.
