A lawyer by training, John leads Resolute’s corporate, financial and legal communications practice, helping clients design and implement strategies in a number of areas including crisis management and brand protection, complex litigation and bankruptcy cases, and mergers and acquisitions, including those which involve regulatory and approval processes at the state and federal levels.

Prior to joining Resolute, John was a senior advisor to J. Dennis Hastert, former Speaker of the United States House of Representatives.  During his eight years with Speaker Hastert, John worked as a press secretary, national campaign spokesperson and executive director of Keep Our Majority PAC, Speaker Hastert’s national political action committee.

In addition to his work with Speaker Hastert, John has been involved with a number of elected officials and political campaigns at the state and federal levels.  In 2010, John served as senior advisor and campaign spokesman for U.S. Rep. Bob Dold (R-IL) and in 2008, John coordinated activities for the Illinois Delegation to the Republican National Convention in Minneapolis-St. Paul, MN.  John also has worked with U.S. Sen. Mark Kirk (R-IL), U.S. Sen. Peter Fitzgerald (R-IL), Illinois Comptroller Judy Baar Topinka, and the Illinois Republican Party.

On the civic front, John is active with a number of charitable and cultural organizations.  He serves on the Corporate Board of Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago; is chair of the President’s Leadership Council of the Field Museum; and is a member of the Auxiliary Board of the Art Institute of Chicago and the Rush Associates Board of Rush University Medical Center.

 

John also is a 2009-2011 Emerging Leaders Fellow with the Chicago Council on Global Affairs and previously served as a board member of the Next Generation Leadership Advisory Council of the Chicago 2016 Olympic Committee. He is a long-time board member of the Irish Georgian Society and the Illinois Government Affairs Group.

John holds a J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law and an A.B. in history and American studies from Princeton University.  He is admitted to the Illinois Bar.
